You may think you need a juicer to make fresh juice but that’s not true! Here’s how to make fresh juice without a juicer.
My Newfound Love of Citrus
For the last month or so, I have been craving citrus like it’s my job. Grapefruit in the mornings? Yep. Fresh squeezed orange juice with extra pulp? You betcha. Clementines as a snack? For sure. Lemon in my water? Of course.
It must be the citrus season because I don’t normally crave or want so much fruit! And, it’s only been citrus; other fruits haven’t been as appealing. (Ba-dum-ch.)
Due to my newfound love, I wanted to make some juice at home so that I didn’t have to drop $7+ on a juice while out and about. You know I’m a #bevviequeen and I wanted to elevate my beverage status just a little bit higher by learning to make my own.
How to Make Fresh Juice Without a Juicer
Making fresh juice at home is really simple. The only downside is that you definitely need a blender to make it. There just isn’t a way around that.
If you’re only using citrus, you could use a juicer, but since I added carrots and apples to my juice, a blender was necessary. I use this one.
You also need a way to strain the pulp from the juice. I prefer to use a nut milk bag from Ellie’s Best. (You can use code “crunchykat” for 10% off!)
You can play around with the ratios of the fruits and other ingredients and perfect it based on your own tastes. I offer the recipe below as a guide but feel free to get creative!
- 1 honeycrisp apple, organic if possible
- 1 1/2 blood oranges
- 1 orange
- 1-2 inches of fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 carrot, peeled
- 1 cup water
- Throw everything into the blender and blend until smooth.
- Strain through a nut milk bag.
