I tried Sun Basket, have you?

I don’t know about you, but every time Monday rolls around, I wonder what I’m going to make for dinner during the week ahead. One of my goals is to get better about meal prepping and planning over the weekends, but I’m not quite there yet.

Enter Sun Basket.

Have you heard of Sun Basket? It’s the new recipe delivery service with organic, non-GMO ingredients.

Reviews for Sun Basket have been popping up all over the place and I wanted to try it. I received a coupon code for 3 free meals and my box was dropped off last week.

Sun Basket Meals

Sun Basket’s meals contain organic produce whenever possible, responsibly–raised, hormone–free meats and sustainably–sourced seafood. I love the thought of receiving easy to follow recipes made up of good for me ingredients.

You can choose 3 meals for 2 or 4 people each time you order (a total of 6 or 12 meals, respectively). Sun Basket also allows you to specify if you’d like Paleo, Gluten-Free, or Vegetarian meals, which is different from other meal services I’ve tried. Once you log in, you can choose from 9 different meal selections, including a breakfast option, another perk to Sun Basket.

You can read a bit more about their process on their FAQ page.

Sun Basket Review

Last week, I ordered 3 Paleo meals for 2 people: Thai-style salmon with Asian pear salad, Italian sausages with apple compote and roasted parsnips, and lemon chicken with sweet smoked paprika and kale. Even though I ordered meals for 2 people, I always had a bit left over the lunch the next day.

The photos in this post are from the lemon chicken recipe and was my least favorite of the three I tried. The Thai-style salmon with Asian pear salad was definitely my favorite.

The cost of Sun Basket is a little on pricey side for me, but I like that all the ingredients are organic. And I like that it takes the work out of meal planning each week, especially on busy weeks. I definitely think Sun Basket is worth trying the first time, especially if you use my code to get 3 free meals (half off of your order). You don’t have to sign up to receive more than one week’s worth of meals so there is no commitment.

Let me know if you end up trying Sun Basket and what you think!
